About the role

1. Position Purpose & SummaryThe incumbent is required to take overall responsibility for the management and performance of the Company and its subsidiaries. The role requires a leader who can navigate a complex operating environment, anticipate and respond to external factors beyond the business’s direct control, and translate these into sound commercial and operational decisions. The incumbent will be expected to provide decisive leadership while building a high-performance culture that positions the business for long-term sustainability and growth. 2. Requirements

  • Citizenship: Namibian
  • Education: An appropriate tertiary degree is mandatory. The qualification must be completed, verifiable and relevant to the scale and complexity of the role.
  • Executive Leadership: A minimum of five years’ executive-level experience with direct accountability for significant operational and financial performance is mandatory. The candidate should be operating at CEO, Managing Director, Divisional Managing Director level.
  • Enterprise Accountability: Demonstrated cross functional leadership experience and end-to-end accountability for strategy, operations, commercial performance, people leadership, risk and financial outcomes across a substantial business or business unit.
  • Relevant Sector Experience: Substantial leadership experience gained in industrial manufacturing and/or logistics. Relevant adjacent environments may include mining and minerals processing, beneficiation, chemicals, fertilizer, processing, or commodities, provided the experience includes comparable operational complexity.
  • Export and Market Complexity: Proven experience in an export-oriented commodity, processing or industrial environment serving geographically diverse customers and managing the operational, logistics and commercial demands associated with multiple markets.
  • Integrated Operating Model: Demonstrated experience leading an integrated business, group of operating businesses or multi-site operation and aligning operations, logistics, commercial, finance and support functions behind clear priorities and performance measures.
  • Full P&L and Financial Leadership: Direct responsibility for a material profit and loss account, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, financial risk management, financial reporting and the implementation of plans that improve profitability and deliver sustainable returns.
  • Operational Performance: A demonstrable track record of improving operating efficiency, productivity, cost competitiveness and continuous improvement in a complex operational environment.
  • Commercial and Growth Leadership: Evidence of translating shareholder or board strategy into executable growth plans, strengthening customer relationships, identifying market opportunities and delivering growth at acceptable margins.
  • Capital and Investment Decisions: Experience evaluating, motivating and delivering capital projects, major investments or strategic initiatives, with accountability for the expected operational and financial returns.
  • Stakeholder Leadership: Proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, which may include shareholders, employees, government authorities, regulators, industry bodies, unions, communities, strategic partners, logistics providers and major customers.
  • Organisational Leadership: A track record of building leadership capability, setting clear expectations and accountability, strengthening succession and fostering a collaborative, high-performance and continuous-improvement culture.
  • Evidence of Delivery: The candidate must be able to provide specific, verifiable examples of enterprise leadership impact, including measurable operational, financial, commercial, organisational or stakeholder outcomes.
  • Shortlisting Threshold: All mandatory criteria above must be clearly evidenced through the candidate’s career history and assessed during the qualification process.
