About the role

Koryx Copper S.A., the parent company of the Haib Copper Project near Noordoewer, is seeking a Community Relationship and Development Officer. This role focuses on implementing and managing Koryx’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives through the building and maintaining positive community relationships. The officer will join a dynamic and diverse team that is developing the Haib Copper Project, which will quite likely become Namibia’s biggest mine. The Project soon will enter the Definitive Feasibility Study stage, with mine construction scheduled to start in about 18 months. The Officer will need to be based in Noordoewer. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): • Managing Corporate Social Investment (CSI) project implementation, including budget oversight, timeline management, project monitoring. • Act as the primary face for Koryx Copper among local stakeholders in Noordoewer and surrounding communities. • Identifying, implementing, and managing community liaison and socio-economic development initiatives. • Stakeholder mapping, tracking community sentiment, and managing formal community grievance mechanisms and conflict resolution. • Community engagement presentations, organising community events, report writing, and contributing to sustainability reporting and social media communications. • Tracking relevant KPIs, collecting ESG data, and maintaining accurate stakeholder databases and visitor logbooks. • Assist with broader ESG implementation where relevant, such as local content initiatives and the implementation of governance protocols. Core Competencies: Strong relationship building, communication and conflict resolution skills, sound judgement and cultural awareness.
