About the role

• Coordinate the implementation of HSE policies, procedures, standards, and programs across the operation. • Monitor compliance with Namibian HSE legislation, regulatory requirements, and company standards. • Coordinate HSE activities across departments and ensure effective communication of HSE requirements. • Conduct and coordinate workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and HSE compliance checks. • Monitor hazardous substances, high-risk activities, and critical safety controls to ensure appropriate controls are implemented. • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, records, registers, reports, and compliance tracking systems. • Prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly HSE reports within required deadlines. • Liaise regularly with the parent company on HSE matters, reporting requirements, performance, and corrective actions. • Coordinate the investigation and reporting of incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, and monitor corrective actions to completion. • Support the development and implementation of HSE training, awareness programs, toolbox talks, and campaigns. • Assist departments in identifying HSE risks and implementing appropriate control measures. • Monitor HSE performance indicators and provide regular updates to management. • Support internal and external HSE audits and ensure audit findings are properly addressed. • Promote a strong HSE culture and encourage employee participation in health, safety, and environmental initiatives. • Ensure HSE practices are aligned with both Namibian and Chinese HSE management systems, where applicable. • Perform any other HSE-related duties assigned by management. **Special Requirements:** • Mandarin language proficiency. • HSE experience in a large-scale open-pit mining operation. • Experience working with both Chinese and Namibian mining companies or contractors. • Additional qualifications or certifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or Risk Management. • Professional HSE certification or registration with a recognized health and safety body. • Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems. • Experience in hazardous substances management and high-risk work activities. • Experience in HSE audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action management. • Proficiency in HSE reporting and management information systems. • Experience coordinating HSE activities across multiple departments and work sites. **Company Contact:** Address: Vivien Investment Building, Tobias Hainyeko street Swakopmund, ER, Namibia Phone: +264 64-463121/+264 64-462068 Website: http://

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE coordination within a mining, heavy industrial, or similar high-risk environment.
• Good knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Practical experience in HSE documentation, reporting, audits, inspections, and compliance tracking.
• Knowledge and practical experience with Chinese and Namibian HSE management systems.
• Good understanding of hazardous substances and high-risk work activities.
• Proven ability to prepare and submit accurate weekly and monthly HSE reports.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to liaise effectively with the parent company and various internal departments.
• Fluent English is required.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
