About the role
Grindrod is looking to secure the services of a Border Runner to join the Wenela Office. This is an exciting opportunity for Namibian citizens residing in the area who is looking for an opportunity to join our team. The role involves alternating shifts, including weekends. Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for this vacancy. • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Meet and assist drivers on arrival at the border and guide them through clearance procedures • Collect, deliver and submit documentation to customs, clearing agents and relevant authorities • Ensure all paperwork is complete, correctly stamped and returned to the C&F Controller • Coordinate the movement of trucks awaiting inspection or clearance • Provide timely updates to the operations and customs teams on truck status • Liaise with customs officers and border stakeholders to resolve queries or delays • Keep accurate records of truck movements, documentation and clearances • Support the C&F Controller with day-to-day operational requirements at the border • Uphold company safety, security and compliance standards at all times **Company Contact:** Address: 174, 3rd Street, Walvis Bay, ER, Namibia Phone: +264 64 219550 Website: http://www.sturrockgrindrod.com
Requirements
- REQUIREMENTS
- Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate (NSSC) or equivalent
- Previous experience in logistics, cross-border or transport operations (advantageous)
- Good communication and attention to detail
- Initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Reliable, self-motivated and safety-conscious
- Computer literacy
