About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design, build and improve reliable software products and services. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership: you will shape sound engineering solutions, guide implementation across the development lifecycle, and help the team deliver secure, maintainable software that meets user and business needs. Responsibilities include: Design, develop, test, review and maintain software applications, services and integrations. Translate product and business requirements into clear technical designs, implementation plans and well-scoped work. Contribute to architecture and technology decisions, balancing reliability, security, performance, maintainability and delivery time. Produce readable, well-structured code and promote effective practices through code reviews, documentation and shared standards. Build and maintain automated tests and support continuous integration and deployment practices. Investigate complex defects and production issues, identify root causes and implement durable fixes. Work closely with product, design, quality assurance, operations, security and other engineering teams. Support and mentor developers through pairing, constructive feedback and technical knowledge sharing. Identify opportunities to improve systems, developer workflows and engineering quality; help plan and deliver those improvements. Communicate progress, technical risks, dependencies and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (NQF Level 4 + Grade 12 required)
- At least 5 years of software development experience
- 1+ years of work experience with C# in .NET
- Strong proficiency in C# and TypeScript
- Experience with web development using Blazor (MudBlazor), HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Deep proficiency across the Microsoft ecosystem: .NET, Azure (Functions, OpenAI/AI Foundry), Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric), and SharePoint (Online and Server Subscription Edition)
- Solid SQL skills
- Familiarity with SharePoint/PnP scripting (PowerShell, PnP.PowerShell)
- Experience with Git for version control
- Experience designing and using APIs, databases, and common software architecture patterns
- Working knowledge of version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and collaborative development workflows
- Experience diagnosing issues across application code, data stores, integrations, and runtime environments
- Track record of delivering software collaboratively and taking ownership from design through production support
- Clear communication skills to explain technical decisions, risks, and trade-offs
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204), Power Platform Developer Associate, or Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate) are advantageous
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies is an advantage
