VACANCY: EXTERNALPOSITION: ACCOUNTANT LOCATION: WALVIS BAYCLOSING DATE: MONDAY, 12 OCTOBER 2026 OMA Shipping & Logistics Namibia has an exciting opportunity available for an Accountant. With direct reporting to the Finance Manager, the incumbent will be based at our Walvis Bay Office. Main Purpose:Responsible for handling day-to-day accounting processes, customers and suppliers’ financial management, and financial compliance. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain day-to-day accounting entries, ledgers, and financial records in accordance with accounting standards. • Financial analysis, and reporting. • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, as well as reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable for shipping transactions and resolve any open items. • Work in collaboration with operations team on customers onboarding, to verify shipping/cargo expense line items and clear billing queries. • Auditing - assist internal and external auditors by supplying documentation and financial schedules. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting process. • Supervise junior accounting staff and provide training and guidance. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. **Company Contact:** Address: Emerald Street Swakopmund, ER, Namibia Phone: 064402403 Website: http://www.jobportunities.net

Requirements

• [Qualifications & Experience:]
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with at least five (5) years accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge with accounting software and proficiency in MS Software.
• Experience in Transport and Logistics finance a distinct advantage
• Good grasp of accounting principles, local tax regulations, and reconciliation processes.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial data.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent analytical, logical problem-solving skills and reporting skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
