About the role

Laboratory Technician is reponsible to peform sample preparations, produce accurate and reliable laboratory analysis of geological samples using approved analytical methods and quality control procedures. Ensuring timely delivery of high-quality assay results that support mineral exploration processes and decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receiving and reconciliation of exploration samples as per the chain of custody (COC) • Identify and report non-conformance or deviation and submitted samples • Screening, crushing, splitting, sample drying, pulverizing, weighing and solution additions for Portable-PPB and Direct XRF analysis as per the Standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Preparation of day-to-day reagent solutions used at the laboratory • Perform inventory checks and reagents and all laboratory consumables • Assist the Laboratory Analyst with data analysis in accordance with the set methods and procedures • Assist the Laboratory Analyst with data analysis and reporting of assay results using p-LiMS and Vanta systems. • Maintaining Laboratory equipment and ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly • Ensure strict adherence to the SOP and maintain high-quality standards • Maintain high standard of housekeeping • Strictly adhere to laboratory standards, safety and good practices • Carry out reasonable ad-hoc operational tasks as requested by the Lab Manager • Stand in for the Laboratory Analyst in their absence **Special Requirements:** • ​Ability to work under pressure • Honest and Trustworthy • Goal/achievement orientation • Ability to work independently • Excellent communication skills (English) • Preference will be given to candidates living in or near Otavi • Qualified female candidates are encouraged to apply • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged Namibians **Company Contact:** Address: Unit 1&2, Diamond Square,Ruhr Street, Northern Ind. Requirements

• Grade 12 or 11 (New Curriculum) NQF5 or equivalent
• Physical Science and Mathematics with 20 points and E symbol in English
• 1-2 years' experience in Mining, Exploration or Commercial laboratory
• Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Computer literate (MS word and Excel)
• Code of Conduct (Latest and Valid)
• Valid driver's license, Code B or BE will be an added advantage
