NEW HORIZON COPPER (PTY) LTD | KOMBATNHC is committed to operating safely, responsibly and efficiently while developing Namibia’s copper resources to create long-term value for our people, communities and the country.We are looking for a suitably qualified Blaster / Miner to join our Mining team.PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo safely and efficiently carry out mining, blasting and related production activities in accordance with approved mining plans, procedures and HSE requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Carry out assigned mining activities safely and efficiently in accordance with approved mining plans and operating procedures. • Prepare for and execute drilling and blasting activities in line with approved blast designs, statutory requirements and site procedures. • Receive, transport, handle and account for explosives and accessories in accordance with approved procedures and legal requirements. • Inspect and prepare work areas, identify unsafe ground conditions and report hazards before mining or blasting activities commence. • Support achievement of shift production and development targets while minimising avoidable delays and rework. • Use mining equipment, tools and PPE correctly, maintain good housekeeping and report incidents, hazards and abnormal conditions. • Work effectively with the mining team to maintain a safe and productive mining cycle. **Company Contact:** Address: Kombat Mine OD, Namibia Phone: 0672314000 Website: http://
Requirements
- [MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS]
- Grade 10 or equivalent; relevant mining or blasting qualification/competency will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant mining and blasting experience.
- Valid blasting certificate/permit or other statutory competency required for blasting duties, where applicable.
- Previous underground mining experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of mining methods, drilling and blasting, explosives safety, face preparation, scaling and barring, ground conditions and HSE requirements.
- Ability to work safely under pressure, follow procedures and contribute effectively within a mining team.
