About the role

The Core Yard Geotechnician is reponsible for the day-to-day technical operational management of diamond drill core within the exploration core yard. The position provides direct support to Project Geologists by ensuring that drill core is received and is critical to maintaining the quality, integrity, traceability and security of geological data and drill core throughout the exploration process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Core Yard Management • Core processing and understand core yard flow • Confirm drill-hole identification and box numbers • Ensure core boxes are correctly labelled and arranged sequentially • Maintain awareness of; active drill holes, holes completed and awaiting processing • Accurately mark drill-core metre intervals • Identify and report discrepancies in drilling depths • Mark and maintain orientation lines on competent drill core • Measure and record drill-core recovery and RQD for each drilling run • Identify zones of poor recovery/significant core loss • Conduct Specific Gravity (SG) density measurements on designated core samples as per project protocol • Conduct routine checks on SG equipment and report any equipment issues • Box number, Drill-hole identification, depths intervals, metre markers and orientation information • Capture high-quality photographs • Ensure sample intervals are clearly marked and identifiable • Cut core according to geological sampling instructions and project protocols • Maintain sample integrity and avoid cross-contamination during cutting • Maintain correct sample sequence and traceability throughout the cutting process **Special Requirements:** • ​Ability to work under pressure • Honest and Trustworthy • Goal/achievement orientation • Ability to work independently • Excellent communication skills (English) • Preference will be given to candidates living in or near Otavi • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged Namibians **Company Contact:** Address: Unit 1&2, Diamond Square,Ruhr Street, Northern Ind. Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric (essential).
• At least 3 years' mining experience/remote sites
• Qualification in the related fields
• Code of Conduct (Latest and Valid)
• Valid driver's license will be an added advantage
