We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a utility infrastructure company whose energy assets run on data. The successful candidate will bridge physical assets in the field and internal office IT. Key Responsibilities: Field telemetry & IoT: Configure, deploy and troubleshoot IoT gateways, data loggers, Modbus/RS485 converters and cellular routers on site. Data integration: Help maintain sensor data pipelines (MQTT, HTTP, SQL) feeding asset monitoring and billing dashboards. Office IT support: Manage LAN, Wi-Fi and VPNs, resolve hardware and software issues and assist with user onboarding. Hardware testing: Build and test prototypes (Raspberry Pi, ESP32, industrial gateways) for customised plant telemetry.
Requirements
- Degree or National Diploma in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or IT, or a strong IoT/hardware portfolio
- Basic networking (IP configuration, Modbus, MQTT and APIs)
- Hardware troubleshooting and Python/SQL scripting
- Resourceful, proactive and quick to troubleshoot
