About the role

A customer-focused individual with initiative, able to oversee workshop activities and willing to develop management skills and knowledge. Key responsibilities include: directing safe, efficient and cost-effective tyre-fitting and workshop maintenance; ensuring compliance with Quality Tyres Namibia, Bridgestone and client procedures; delivering the contracted scope of work to a high service standard; completing tyre-change slips, timesheets and safety documentation; assisting the Site Supervisor with safety files, accurate data and stock counts; supporting equipment maintenance and calibration; inspecting wheel components; maintaining and reporting tyre pressures; ensuring workshop and office hygiene; performing tyre-fitting tasks and assessing staff competence and training gaps; assisting the Site Supervisor with safe work, lock-out/tag-out, PPE and pre-start checks; helping investigate hazards and incidents and implementing risk controls; working with the safety representative to resolve safety issues; leading safety meetings, inspections and job hazard analyses; and supporting safe work procedures and following emergency procedures.

Requirements

• Grade 12 National Certificate
• Valid light vehicle driving licence (Namibian Code B or BE)
• 3 years' earthmover tyre-fitting experience
• National Certificate: Tyre Repair and Maintenance
• Good communication, customer service and supervisory skills
• Good writing skills and attention to detail
• Physically fit and able to work extended hours
• Sound knowledge of tools, machinery and equipment maintenance
• Preferred: 1 year's experience overseeing workshop activities
• Preferred: Coaching and mentoring certificate
• Level 2 Tyre Fitting and Removal
• Required in-house, external and site-specific training
• Red / Pit Permit, tyre handler licence and forklift licence
