Job Purpose: • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key mining companies, contractors, EPCs, and other relevant stakeholders in Namibia. • Conduct regular visits to mining sites and operational locations to understand client requirements, challenges, projects, and future developments. • Establish relationships with decision-makers and influencers at operational, procurement, supply chain, and management levels. • Monitor market developments, mining projects, investment plans, production forecasts, and logistics requirements. • Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of mining opportunities and provide regular market and commercial intelligence to management. • Represent AGL Namibia at relevant industry events, conferences, workshops, and client forums. • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the mining sector. • Lead the commercial development of assigned mining accounts and prospects from opportunity identification through to contract award. • Develop and execute account and business development strategies for priority mining customers. • Generate new opportunities across AGL Namibia’s logistics portfolio, including transport, warehousing, freight forwarding, port logistics, project logistics, corridor solutions, and integrated supply chain services. • Proactively identify opportunities to expand AGL Namibia’s share of wallet within existing mining accounts. • Lead client meetings, presentations, negotiations, and commercial discussions, involving the Commercial Director and Commercial Team where appropriate. • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline with clear probability, timing, value, and next actions. • Lead or coordinate the preparation of commercial proposals, quotations, tenders, and business cases for mining opportunities, with HQ Mining Vertical and supportive departments. • Work closely with Pricing Team, Operations, Finance, and relevant Teams to develop commercially viable and operationally executable solutions. • Develop preliminary costings, revenue and margin projections, and business plans for opportunities. • Challenge assumptions and ensure proposals are competitive while protecting AGL Namibia’s profitability. • Participate in contract negotiations and ensure commercial terms are aligned with AGL Namibia’s objectives, risk appetite, and internal governance. • Monitor the progress of opportunities from RFQ/tender stage through to contract award and implementation. • Ensure appropriate CRM and pipeline reporting, including accurate opportunity values, probabilities, timelines, and next steps. • Develop and present integrated logistics solutions tailored to the specific requirements of mining clients. • Position AGL Namibia as a strategic logistics partner rather than solely a service provider. • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and integrated solutions across AGL Namibia’s various activities and geographical corridors. • Work with operational teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with client expectations. • Identify opportunities for value-added services and innovative logistics solutions that improve client efficiency, reliability, and total logistics cost. • Develop account plans for strategic mining customers and ensure regular review of commercial performance and growth opportunities. • Monitor customer satisfaction, service performance, and emerging requirements. • Identify risks to existing business and develop appropriate retention and growth strategies. • Support the resolution of commercial issues and escalate critical matters to the Commercial Director and management when required. • Build long-term partnerships with clients and identify opportunities for contract extensions, renewals, and additional scope. • Act as a senior commercial representative for the mining sector and provide market leadership internally. • Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop and deliver mining solutions. • Mentor and support more junior Business Development resources where applicable. • Share market intelligence, client feedback, competitor information, and commercial best practices with the wider commercial team. • Work closely with the Commercial Director and Head of Mining Vertical on strategic accounts, major tenders, negotiations, and business development priorities. • Progressively take ownership of assigned mining accounts and opportunities with a high degree of autonomy **Company Contact:** Address: P.O. Requirements
- [Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:]
- Master degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mining, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within business development, commercial, logistics, supply chain, mining, energy, or related industrial sectors.
- Proven track record in business development, account management, sales, tender management, or commercial development.
- Experience working with mining companies, mining contractors, EPCs, or industrial clients is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles and develop relationships with senior client stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of commercial, financial, pricing, and contractual concepts.
- Experience preparing and negotiating commercial proposals, tenders, and contracts.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive opportunities from identification to conversion.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to mining sites across Namibia.
