Positions: 2 | Employment: Full time / Contract | Posted: 04-11-2026 General Scope of DutyThe Earthmoving Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing earthmoving machinery, mobile equipment, support equipment and infrastructure to ensure equipment availability meets production requirements.Location and reporting structureThis position is based at the Otjikoto Mine and will report directly to the Senior Earthmoving Diesel Mechanic.Duties & Responsibilities•Carry out routine and specialised maintenance, repairs, daily inspections and scheduled services.•Identify and report equipment defects, create work requests and communicate planned maintenance activities to the Senior Earthmoving Diesel Mechanic.•Recover, troubleshoot and repair earthmoving equipment following breakdowns in the open pit or field to minimise downtime.•Carry out component change-outs and major maintenance interventions.•Keep Operations and relevant supervisors informed of repair progress, including during after-hours call-outs, and notify Pit Control when equipment is ready for use.•Complete and submit job cards, maintenance records, oil sample documentation and component change-out records accurately and on time.•Compile spare parts lists, monitor stock levels and identify parts required for repairs.•Complete pre-use inspections and ensure the appropriate test or operator’s licence is held before operating or testing equipment.•Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and ensure special tools are cleaned and returned after use.•Allocate work to assisting team members according to their skills and competencies.Safety, Health and Environment•Ensure compliance with all B2Gold Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.•Comply with the Namibian Mining Act (Labour Act, Ordinance, Minerals Act, and Explosives Act) and Regulation clauses applicable to the work area.•Actively participate in safety and/or toolbox meetings and conduct a monthly safety meeting.
