Uis Tin Mining Company Pty Ltd an equal opportunity employer, situated in the Erongo region, hereby invites competent & suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Geologist. The position reports to the Exploration Geologist.Key responsibilities:•Adhere to all health, safety, environmental and company standards on site.•Assist with geological mapping, sampling and exploration field activities.•Capture, record and maintain accurate geological and exploration data.•Assist with drill core logging, geotechnical core logging and core marking.•Prepare sample ticket books and ensure samples are correctly labelled and documented.•Assist with the insertion and monitoring of QAQC samples in drilling and sampling programmes.•Monitor and verify drill core depth markings and core quality standards.•Supervise core photography, core cutting and sample preparation activities.•Assist with sample dispatch and tracking to external laboratories.•Conduct planned task observations and promote safe work practices.•Participate in team risk assessments and verify the quality and completeness of risk assessment documentation.•Assist with the supervision of Exploration assistants, contractors and service providers.•Support the establishment and maintenance of exploration field camps.•Compile daily activity records and assist with reporting on exploration progress.•Assist with environmental monitoring and rehabilitation of exploration sites.•Ensure exploration activities are documented and monitored before, during and after field programmes.•Assist with the preparation of maps, plans, sections and other geological presentations.•Perform administrative tasks related to exploration activities when required. **Company Contact:** Address: Emerald Street Swakopmund, ER, Namibia Phone: 064402403 Website: http://www.jobportunities.net
