About the role:The Senior Driller is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of drilling rigs to achieve production targets while upholding the highest safety and environmental standards. This role oversees the setup, operation and maintenance of drilling equipment, ensures compliance with all legal and company requirements and leads the drilling crew in executing tasks to plan and specification.Responsibilities • Set up the drilling rig safely and efficiently to meet operational requirements. • Review drilling plans, contractual requirements, and site conditions before commencing work. • Conduct risk assessments and ensure all pre-drilling safety checks are completed. • Ensure sufficient consumables, tools, and support equipment are available prior to shift • Operate the rig in strict adherence to safety procedures and industry best practice. • Drill to specified angles, depths, and diameters as per contractual and technical requirements. • Ensure core/sample quality meets contractual and geological specifications. • Monitor drilling parameters and progress continuously, adjusting operations to maintain efficiency and safety. • Accurately record drilling performance, consumable usage, and operational conditions during the shift. • Complete end-of-shift reports and ensure timely submission. • Provide detailed handovers to incoming crews, including drilling progress, equipment status, and safety concerns. • Communicate operational updates to supervisors and other stakeholders. • Lead, instruct, and motivate the drilling crew to achieve production and safety targets. • Support Drill crew ensuring adherence to safe work practices and operational standards. • Assess individual skill levels, identify training needs, and assign tasks to build capability. • Act as a mentor, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth within the crew. • Perform routine maintenance, within capability and qualification, on rigs and associated equipment. • Identify, report, and escalate equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Drilling Supervisor. • Maintain accurate usage records of drill bits, reamers, consumables and spares. • Ensure equipment is kept in safe working order and downtime is minimized. • Ensure that the drilling rig and associated equipment is kept clean. • Enforce compliance with company policies, mine regulations, and health, safety, and environmental legislation. • Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all crew and visitors. • Maintain strict oversight of site safety, including crew, equipment, and operational environment. • Uphold high housekeeping standards across all drilling areas. • Lead by example in safety culture, actively participating in toolbox talks, pre starts, drills, incident reporting and training sessions. • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent incidents **Special Requirements:** • Problem Solving • Coaching & Mentorship • Technical Proficiency • Mechanical Aptitude • Reporting & Documentation • Safety Management • Attention to Detail • Teamwork • Communication • Delegation and Task Management • Accountability • Resilience & Adaptability • Integrity • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged applicants **Company Contact:** Address: Otjiwarongo Otjiwarongo. Requirements

• Grade 12
• Documented training records in the form of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Practical Task Observations (PTOs), and competency assessments.
• Trade certificate, technical qualification, or recognised drilling accreditation would be advantageous.
• 7+ years experience as a Driller, including the operation of percussion, reverse circulation, diamond, and rotary drilling methods.
• Proven track record of achieving production and safety targets in remote or field-based environments.
• Prior experience leading or
• mentoring junior crew members is highly desirable
• Valid Code of Conduct
