NEW HORIZON COPPER (PTY) LTD | KOMBATNHC is committed to operating safely, responsibly and efficiently while developing Namibia’s copper resources to create long-term value for our people, communities and the country.We are looking for a suitably qualified Shift Boss to join our Mining team.PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo supervise and coordinate safe and efficient mining activities during the assigned shift, ensuring production targets are achieved in accordance with approved mining plans, operating procedures and HSE requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervise and coordinate mining activities during the assigned shift and allocate employees to appropriate work areas. • Plan shift activities, monitor production and development progress, and address operational constraints promptly. • Coordinate drilling, blasting and related mining activities in accordance with approved procedures and statutory requirements. • Conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards and unsafe conditions, and enforce safe work practices and corrective actions. • Provide direction to mining crews, conduct effective shift handovers and promote teamwork, discipline and accountability. • Monitor availability and utilisation of mining equipment, materials and resources and escalate breakdowns or shortages. • Maintain accurate shift, production, inspection and incident records, including statutory log book entries and handover reporting. **Company Contact:** Address: Kombat Mine OD, Namibia Phone: 0672314000 Website: http://
Requirements
- [MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS]
- Grade 12; a recognised mining qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant mining experience, including supervisory experience in a mining environment.
- Relevant statutory mining competency/certification applicable to the role and mining environment, as required by the Company.
- Previous underground mining experience will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of mining operations, drilling and blasting, shift planning, ground and workplace safety, equipment coordination and HSE requirements.
- Ability to read survey plans, interpret ventilation reports, understand rock strata control and apply disciplinary processes where required.
