You will lead the commercial, contractual and procurement governance of the project through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and close-out, making sure contracting is well planned and administered, contractual obligations are enforced, changes and claims are controlled and commercial risks are managed within delegated authority. Key responsibilities • Provide commercial leadership and advice to the Project Director and Owner's Team • Develop the contracting strategy and commercial framework in line with Owner governance and delegation of authority • Oversee procurement of major equipment, construction packages, professional services and long-lead items • Lead contract administration and make sure contractual obligations are understood and enforced • Control changes and variations, and manage claims and dispute avoidance • Lead commercial negotiations and settlements and prepare management recommendations • Oversee payment certification, securities, insurances and warranties • Provide commercial reporting and work with project controls on forecasts, commitments and accruals • Manage commercial risk, final accounts and contract close-out • Lead and develop the contracts and procurement team Location: Engineering office / project office, Namibia (remote site environment) To apply, visit: https://wia-gold-flow.base44.app/careers/WIA-2026-010?source=government **Special Requirements:** • Experience on greenfield capital projects in the gold mining industry • Knowledge of Southern African contracting, procurement and regulatory environments • Working knowledge of FIDIC or equivalent contract forms **Company Contact:** Address: 14 Liliencron Street, Klein Windhoek Windhoek, KH, Namibia Phone: +264817036893 Website: http://wiagold.com.au
Requirements
- Professional qualification in Commercial Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Minimum 15 years' commercial, contracts and/or procurement experience, with substantial experience on major mining, minerals processing, infrastructure or heavy industrial capital projects
- Senior commercial management experience in an Owner's Team, EPC, EPCM or major contractor environment
- Experience across contracting strategy, tendering, award, contract administration, final account and close-out
- Strong knowledge of construction and supply contracts, claims, variations, payment mechanisms, securities, insurances and warranties
- Experience in negotiation, claim assessment and commercial settlement
- Good understanding of procurement governance, anti-bribery and corruption controls and delegation of authority
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP, contract management and project controls systems
- Proficient in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to work in a remote, multicultural project environment
