NEW HORIZON COPPER (PTY) LTD | KOMBATNHC is committed to operating safely, responsibly and efficiently while developing Namibia’s copper resources to create long-term value for our people, communities and the country.We are looking for a suitably qualified Drill Rig Assistant to join our Mining team.PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo assist the Drill Rig Operator with safe and efficient drilling operations, equipment preparation, housekeeping and related mining activities to support planned production.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist the Drill Rig Operator with drilling activities, including preparation, positioning, rods, tools and other required drilling support. • Assist with pre-start inspections, equipment preparation and safe positioning of the drill rig; report defects or abnormal conditions immediately. • Prepare and maintain drilling areas so worksites are clean, organised and free of avoidable hazards. • Handle, store and maintain drilling tools, consumables and materials safely and report shortages, damage or defects. • Support basic equipment care, cleaning and routine checks, including assisting the drill rig artisan with breakdown repairs as directed. • Support the mining team in achieving planned drilling activities and maintaining an efficient drilling cycle. • Follow all HSE procedures, use required PPE, identify and report hazards and comply with operator and supervisor instructions. **Company Contact:** Address: Kombat Mine OD, Namibia Phone: 0672314000 Website: http://
Requirements
- [MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS]
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Previous mining, drilling or heavy-equipment experience will be an added advantage.
- Previous underground drilling experience will be an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence where required and any equipment or site-specific competency applicable to assigned duties.
- Basic knowledge of drilling operations, drill rig components and tools, worksite preparation, equipment checks and housekeeping.
- Physically fit and able to work safely in active mining and drilling areas.
- Reliable, disciplined, safety-conscious and able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
