Positions: 2 | Employment: Full time / Permanent | Posted: 03-11-2026 The cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and general housekeeping throughout the hardware store premises. The employee ensures that all areas, including the sales floor, offices, staff facilities, warehouse and surrounding premises, are kept clean, neat, hygienic and presentable at all times. Special Requirements: • A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent formal education will be an advantage. • Basic literacy and numeracy skills. • Ability to read and understand basic cleaning instructions, safety signs and workplace procedures. • Basic knowledge of hygiene, sanitation and housekeeping practices. • At least 1–2 years of experience in a cleaning or housekeeping position will be an advantage. • Knowledge of handling cleaning chemicals, materials and equipment safely. Requirements
- Sweep, mop and maintain clean floors throughout the store.
- Dust shelves, windows, office furniture, counters and other surfaces.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of rubbish.
- Maintain cleanliness of entrances, walkways, parking areas and surrounding premises.
- Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Ensure that cleaning activities do not inconvenience customers or disrupt store operations.
- Follow proper hygiene, waste management and workplace safety procedures.
