• Oversee efficient operation all equipment within the Sample Preparation and UCS sections of the Laboratory. • Perform quality monitoring checks and tests to ensure the process and equipment run within defined limits, including testing of equipment as directed by preventative maintenance schedule. • Analyses of samples for moisture and UCS in the laboratory. • Collect consumables from Supply Chain and deliver them to Laboratory. • Ensure all samples are captured into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) immediately. • Prepare samples by pressing, weighing, crushing, pulverizing, splitting, drying and/or filtering. • Clean the laboratory glassware for efficient operation. • Compile and submit accurate daily shift reports, downtime and maintenance logs. • Ensure compliance with SHE requirements, company standards, and statutory regulations. **Special Requirements:** • Knowledge of relevant laboratory equipment such as crushers, splitters, pulverizers and presses. • Knowledge of relevant laboratory processes such as crushing, coning & quartering, contamination, etc. • Knowledge of relevant laboratory equipment health and deviations from the norm. • Knowledge of laboratory safety standards. • Basic equipment and tool use, such spatulas, pulverizer bowls, splitters. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. • Computer literacy and understanding of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). • Cooperation and being proactive and observant. • Precision in confirming normal trends in a laboratory. • Identification of sample trends and assessment of equipment performance. • Visual inspections for wear, alignment, and safety compliance. • Daily maintenance checks of crushers, pulverizers, pressure filtration vessels, UCS presses and curing baths. • Sample preparation of slurry, paste, solid and core samples. • Moisture determination of dispatch samples and paste cylinders **Company Contact:** Address: 1 Kahan Street, Industrial area Rosh Pinah, KA, Namibia Phone: 063-274200 Website: http://
Requirements
- [Ideallly, what you will have:]
- Grade 12
- Laboratory Compliance certification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 1 year’s laboratory experience.
- Proficiency in Mircosoft Package Suite
- Valid code B driver’s license
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
