About the role:The Senior Rig Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical systems on equipment used in drilling operations. The role ensures the reliable and safe operation of all mechanical equipment through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and accurate fault findings.Responsibilities • Assist the Senior Maintenance Supervisor with the compilation and monitoring of preventative maintenance schedules. • Assess stock requirements for scheduled maintenance/repair activities. • Prioritize work activities in collaboration with operational personnel. • Ensure sufficient consumables, tools, and support equipment are available • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. • Record all consumables and parts used during installation, maintenance and repair activities. • Log repair/maintenance activities in accordance with company SOP’s • Provide daily feedback to Senior Maintenance Supervisor with regards to progress achieved. • Report incidences of equipment misuse for corrective action. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical systems in drilling equipment. • Troubleshoot mechanical system issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. • Repair or replace faulty mechanical components. • Test and adjust repaired mechanical systems to ensure they function optimally. • Conduct preventative maintenance on mechanical components/systems, in line with the preventative maintenance schedule. • Service and maintain the mechanical systems, ensuring operational efficiency. • Install new mechanical components and accessories in equipment. • Perform periodic inspections to identify degradation of mechanical components to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards. • Participate in pre-commissioning tests with suppliers of new equipment. • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns in remote or field locations, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth drilling operations. • Assist with equipment assembly and disassembly during rig moves and relocations. • Provide technical expertise and support and collaborate with other team members on troubleshooting tasks. • Follow safety protocols whilst working on heavy machinery and in hazardous environments. • Ensure all work complies with company policies, industry standards, health, safety and environmental regulations • Uphold high housekeeping standards across all work areas. • Lead by example in safety culture, actively participating in toolbox talks, drills, incident reporting, and training sessions. • Identify hazards and propose corrective actions to prevent incidents. **Special Requirements:** • Problem Solving • Coaching & Mentorship • Technical Proficiency • Reporting & Documentation • Safety Management • Attention to Detail • Teamwork • Communication • Delegation and Task Management • Accountability • Resilience & Adaptability • Integrity • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged applicants **Company Contact:** Address: Otjiwarongo Otjiwarongo. Requirements

• Grade 12
• Completion of a fitter apprenticeship plus vocational training courses attended on diagnostic techniques and fault finding on mechanical systems
• 5+ years experience as a fitter, working with heavy mechanical equipment in remote or field environments.
• Proven track record of achieving maintenance and safety targets in remote or field-based environments.
• Valid Code of Conduct
