About the role:The Core Marker is responsible for the accurate labelling, documenting and handling of geological core samples during drilling operations. The role of this position is to ensure that all core samples are properly identified for geological surveys.Responsibilities • Receive and transport core samples from the drill rig to designated areas. • Bag, tag and organise samples for transport to the core yard. • Assist offsiders and drillers with the retrieval and/or sample collection. • Assist offsiders with the process of tripping rods in and out of the hole. • Mark cores with depth intervals, orientation lines, and continuous labels, including full and half-meter measurements. • Ensure markings are clear, legible and securely placed to prevent data loss. • Troubleshoot and resolve any sample discrepancies or issues • Comply with company policies, mine regulations, and health, safety, and environmental legislation. • Uphold high housekeeping standards across all drilling areas. • Lead by example in safety culture, actively participating in toolbox talks, drills, incident reporting, and training sessions. • Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent incidents. **Special Requirements:** • Technical Knowledge • Reporting & Documentation • Safety Management • Attention to detail • Teamwork • Communication • Resilience & Adaptability • Integrity • Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged applicants **Company Contact:** Address: Otjiwarongo Otjiwarongo. Requirements
- Grade 12
- 2+ years experience as a Core Marker
- Valid Code of Conduct
