NEW HORIZON COPPER (PTY) LTD | KOMBATNHC is committed to operating safely, responsibly and efficiently while developing Namibia’s copper resources to create long-term value for our people, communities and the country.We are looking for a suitably qualified Drill Rig Operator to join our Mining team.PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo safely and efficiently operate assigned drill rig equipment to complete drilling activities in accordance with approved mine plans, drilling requirements and HSE standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Operate the assigned drill rig safely and efficiently in accordance with approved drilling plans, procedures and production requirements. • Complete drilling to the required pattern, depth, alignment and quality standards and support planned drilling and production targets. • Conduct pre-start inspections and routine checks, monitor equipment condition and report defects or maintenance requirements. • Ensure drilling areas are prepared and safe, with required operating controls, exclusion zones and safe work practices in place. • Operate equipment within manufacturer and site requirements, maintain good housekeeping and protect equipment from avoidable damage. • Provide clear instructions and guidance to assigned Drill Rig Assistants and ensure supporting activities are completed safely. • Maintain accurate drilling, equipment, downtime and shift records and comply with all HSE requirements and training. **Company Contact:** Address: Kombat Mine OD, Namibia Phone: 0672314000 Website: http://
Requirements
- [MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS]
- Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant drill rig operating experience, preferably in a mining environment, with demonstrated competence on relevant equipment.
- Valid operator competency/certification for the relevant equipment where required and a valid driver’s licence where required.
- Relevant drilling or heavy-equipment qualification will be an added advantage.
- Previous underground drilling experience will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of drill rig operation, drilling methods and plans, equipment inspections, condition monitoring and basic fault finding.
- Strong safety focus, reliability, teamwork, attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
